I grew up in a poor village in China. With few toys to play, I spent my time learning how to make different types of crafts. I came to the US at the age of 10 and worked in the family restaurant business. But despite the busy hours, I always found time to make crafts.
Over the years, my handcrafted artwork has brought smiles and joy to many people.
Though I am now blessed that my family is no longer poor, I still have a strong desire to use crafts as a way of touching people.
As a result of attending bridal showers for my good friends, people started asking me to make them rehearsal wedding bouquets. Of course I jumped at the chance! Having impressed my friends with the quality of the flowers, they encouraged me to start a business.
In the summer of 2010, I interned at a state mental health hospital. Due to a very limited budget, the hospital needed an additional source of revenue to help pay for critical items in the program. I volunteered my time to make flowers which were sold to employees and visitors. It turned out to be a wonderful success. In only three short months, we sold over a hundred flowers, all through the word of mouth!
My love for crafts and through the encouragement of these experiences has led me to start a business. To encourage buyers, I donate 10% of my profit to charity.
